Artistic crystalware
Luxury mouth-blown and hand-cut glass objects that were designed between 1900 and 2007, primarily in the period from 1920 to 1940, and produced using a traditional method often from original, well-preserved moulds. The range of designs is rich indeed and a great many have been so successful as to withstand all waves of fashion and changes in taste. These designs have been produced successfully for decades. Such timeless products have been assembled in the collection, which is sure to please even the most demanding lover of artistically formed glass in the twenty-first century.
Traditional technology - handmade
FORMATION OF THE MOLTEN GLASS I
The assistant glassmaker takes the molten glass out the glass furnace and blows the so-called bulb.
FORMATION OF THE MOLTEN GLASS II
The master glassmaker carefully pre-forms the bulb for the mould along with another assistant.
BLOWING INTO THE MOULD
After this has been done, he inserts the pre-formed bulb into the mould and blows a decanter.
PRESSING IN PLIERS
Stoppers and other small glass objects are pressed in a mould that is held in pliers.
HAND CUTTING
A vertical cutter is necessary for cutting some areas and details.
HAND POLISHING
The brilliant shine of the decanter is accomplished through precision hand polishing.
